Casting headshots
The purpose of the actor’s headshot is to support the actor’s ‘brand’. In some instances the casting headshot may be the only thing that gets you past the first round of the filtering process with agents, casting directors or managers. For these reasons it is important that you have a photograph that you feel really reflects and represents you - as well as one that does not irritate the viewer because you have you have been poorly cropped, or photographed with mad staring eyes.
A headshot session may be for 1 or 2 hours. It can be in a studio setting, outside or both. It will commence with us talking, so that I can begin get to know you and we can discuss exactly what you are looking for. I will typically take 3-500 photographs. Especially in a studio setting, there will be a chance for several changes of outfit. In a studio setting I will show you the results as the shoot progresses. In this manner we will keep only those photos that you like and we can adjust the lighting, background or poses accordingly so that you end up with exactly what you are looking for.
Within 24 hours of the shoot I will email you (and your agent) a pdf contact strip of the preferred shots taken during the shoot (typically this will be of 40-60 photos). From these you can select your favourites which I will then retouch (for example to remove that spot that blew up the night before our session), before providing you with retouched digital images from which prints can subsequently be made.
